Kevin Stout - Trombone

Kevin Stout has been a freelance jazz trombonist in Las Vegas, Nevada, for many years, where he has worked with The Four Seasons, The Four Tops, Don Rickles and Frank Sinatra Jr., among many others. His credits include the Don Menza Big Band and Quintet, The Nevada Jazz Orchestra and his own Kevin Stout Quintet.

From 1992 to 2000, Kevin performed with the Four Freshmen jazz
vocal group as a trombone soloist, guitarist, bassist, percussionist and vocalist. Stout appeared on three albums with the Four Freshmen, two of which were produced and engineered by Stout. His television credits include The Charles Grodin Show, CBS Sunday Morning and 50 years Fresh, a PBS special which aired in summer 1999 and featured Maureen McGovern. International appearances include "Tamouri's World Of Music" variety show in Japan, and "Tribute to Stan Kenton", a German television special from Berlin,Germany.

His latest two CD’s as a co-leader have been critically acclaimed, the first of which, Good Pals, climbed to #23 on the Jazzweek charts, and “Up Jazz Creek” is poised to continue this trend.

His melodic improvisations, and an unusually extended high register mark Kevin’s unique sound.


Brian Booth - Tenor Saxophone

Utah Saxophonist Brian Booth began his music career as a teenager. While attending the University of Utah, a “sax battle” with the legendary jazz musician, Richie Cole prompted Booth to make music a permanent part of his life. After receiving a music degree from theUniversity of Utah, Booth subsequently worked onstage and in the studio with a variety of established artists. Highlights include performances with the Utah Symphony pops series, with guest artists Natalie Cole, Bernadette Peters, Maureen McGovern, Elaine Paige, Mel Torme, Eddie Daniels, Ray Charles, Ben Vereen, Johnny Mathis, and many others.

Musically inspired by the great composers and musicians of our time such as Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Charlie Parker, Michael Brecker, and Cannonball Adderly just to name a few, Brian Booth has spent a two decade-plus career composing and playing jazz. Booth’s innate respect for the art of jazz has guided many of his musical ideas, which recently culminated in a lifelong dream to record a solo album.

“Good Pals,” recorded in 2002, demonstrates the depth and beauty of Booth’s musical passion. Recorded with lifelong friend and noted Las Vegas trombone player, Kevin Stout, the current release showcases Booth’s talent for composing original tunes based on older tunes, paying homage to the past while setting up a new musical dialogue for the future.


 

Joey Singer - Piano

Joey Singer’s career has spanned many different arenas, from nightclubs and concert halls to television and recording studios. He is presently Music Director for Debbie Reynolds a post he has held for eighteen years. In addition to conducting the national tour of “The Unsinkable Molly Brown”, for Ms. Reynolds, he also accompanied her with the Boston Pops on their 4th of July celebration, “Pops Goes the Fourth” for A&E television and has appeared several times on the “Tonight Show”. Joey has also played and conducted for a host of other celebrities including Johnny Mathis, Henry Mancini, Toni Tenille and Dame Shirley Bassey in her triumphant Las Vegas return. Joey can be heard with Mr. Mathis on the highly acclaimed “Chances Are-Live in Concert” for PBS and also on the popular daytime drama “Days of our Lives”. Mr. Singer has conducted some of the country’s finest orchestras including the Dallas Symphony, the Utah Symphony, the Minnesota Orchestra and the Detroit Symphony. An accomplished jazz musician, Joey has performed with many notable artists including Rosemary Clooney, Eileen Farrell, Harry James, the Mills Brothers, Gerry Mulligan, Zoot Sims and Kevin Stout. In addition to his duties with Ms. Reynolds, Joey performs with the international hit musical “Mamma Mia” at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, where he resides with his wife, Mara, and two cats.


 

Tom Warrington - Bass

Tom Warrington is one of the busiest acoustic and electric bass players in Los Angeles. Tom began his career in New York City, playing for three years in the Buddy Rich big band and trio. He also toured Europe extensively as a clinician and performer, and worked with many other great N.Y. artists, including Stan Getz, Dave Liebman, and Hank Jones. Tom has lived in Los Angeles for the past twenty years, performing and recording with a long list of great artists, including Freddie Hubbard, Billy Childs, Denny Zeitlin, Bob Florence, Joe LaBarbera, Mose Allison, Arturo Sandoval, and Peggy Lee. His playing spans a wide range of styles, from jazz albums with Bob Sheppard and Terry Trotter, to TV commercials, where his music writing skills are often called upon. Tom is heard on many movie and television scores, and is a featured artist on the soundtrack of Jodie Foster's film "Little Man Tate." He has also performed at the renowned Playboy Jazz Festival with Randy Brecker's quintet at the Hollywood Bowl, with Billy Childs at the Montreal and North Sea Jazz Festivals, and with Steve Houghton at the Samix International Festival in South Africa. This summer, Tom also toured New Zealand and performed a series of concerts in Edinburgh, Scotland.

His continuing association with top jazz players, combined with his clear and logical methods for communicating musical ideas have kept him in constant demand for clinics and seminars. Tom has also published a variety of musical works and instructional materials, including "Essential Styles I & II," (with play-along CD's), a video series, "The Contemporary Rhythm Section," a 28-book play-along series, "MasterTracks," and a new beginning bass method/CD, "Crawl Before You Walk." He is a faculty member at University of Nevada Las Vegas, and holds a master's degree in composition from University of Illinois. Tom has also just released a new CD on the Jazz Compass label (jazzcompass.com), with Larry Koonse and Joe LaBarbera.


John Abraham - Drums

John Abraham, graduate of West Virginia University has 20 years of professional experience backing up major stars and playing shows in Las Vegas. John was a performer on the nationally syndicated radio broadcasts of "Monday Night Jazz at the Four Queens" backing up numerous jazz artists such as Carl Fontana, Bill Watrous, Pete Christlieb, Marvin Stamm and Joe Williams. He also performed at "Jazz On The Strip" with Don Menza, Cedar Walton, Alan Broadbent, Rickey Ford and others. John currently works at the Cirque du Soleil production of "Mystere" and was a former instructor in the Jazz Studies department at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
